Employee Communication Guide
Employee Communication Guide

-
This guide is designed to support clear and effective internal communication for all District 50 employees by outlining the appropriate channels employees should follow. Following the proper chain of communication will promote efficiency, accountability, consistency, and professionalism with our employees across the district.
-
- Employees are always encouraged to address concerns or ask questions professionally at the closest point of origin first.
- Always begin communication with your immediate supervisor.
- If the issue is unresolved, proceed to the next level of supervision or department leadership.
- Remember to use a professional tone and written documentation when needed.
- Urgent matters (e.g., safety concerns or legal issues) should be reported immediately to the appropriate district-level office.
-
- Use your district email for professional communication
- Schedule in-person or virtual meetings for complex discussions
- Document all formal concerns or complaints using the appropriate forms
