D50 Announces Two New Principals for the 2022-2023 School Year

Anna Haynes has been named as Rice Elementary School’s new Principal. Haynes is currently completing her first year as an Assistant Principal at Woodfields Elementary School. Over the last five years, Haynes has worked in District 50 as a teacher, assistant principal, and interim principal at Lakeview Elementary School. Prior to working in District 50, Haynes spent 10 years in Anderson School District Five as a teacher at North Pointe Elementary and Nevitt Forest Community School of Innovation. Haynes graduated from Maryville College in 2006 and went on to earn a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Anderson University. 

 

“I am excited about this new career opportunity in District 50,” Haynes stated. “I look forward to working with the teachers and staff of Rice as we strive to improve the overall success of all of our students.” 

 

Eric Syswerda has been named as the new Principal at Westview Middle School. Syswerda has served as an Assistant Principal at Greenwood High School for the last two years. During his 26 year career in public education, Syswerda has worked as a teacher, administrator, and athletic coach in District 50 and Greenwood School District 52. Syswerda obtained his bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Taylor University in Indiana and his master’s degree from the U.S. Sports Academy. In 2013, Syswerda received his Education Specialist degree in Administration from Clemson University. 

 

“I look forward to working with the Westview family as we continue the process to grow and be great,” Syswerda stated. 

 

Superintendent Dr. Steve Glenn is excited to have two new Principals for the 2022-2023 school year. 


Dr. Glenn said, “These administrators will do a tremendous job. I am confident they will have a positive impact on the faculty, staff, students and parents at their schools next year.”
