Greenwood School District 50 Launches New Visual Identity

Greenwood School District 50 unveiled a refreshed brand today, Oct. 19, that is expected to energize students, staff, and community members for years to come. As the largest school district in Greenwood County, the new identity, which includes a new logo, new colors and a new vision statement, reinforces the district’s reputation of leadership, innovation, and excellence.

For the past several months, Greenwood School District 50 and our partners, Rhodes Branding, have been working diligently to evolve and reimagine the district’s brand, so that we can convey exactly what Greenwood School District 50 is all about, what we do, and what we want to be.

“Throughout this process, we have engaged student voices, alumni, board members, staff, and faculty members to inform the direction of the new visual identity and vision statement,” said Greenwood School District 50 Superintendent, Dr. Steve Glenn. “Even though most of this process took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have spent an extraordinary amount of time listening, asking questions, and listening some more. We couldn’t be more excited about unveiling our new identity to the D50 community.”

The district solicited feedback about the new identity from the community through a survey that was posted on the district’s website and social media channels. More than 650 teachers, staff members, parents, students, and community members responded to the survey. Additionally, the district office created a Branding Committee with people in various roles throughout the district to provide recommendations and feedback to Rhodes Branding throughout the process through focus groups and meetings.

The new identity pays homage to the district’s D50 nickname and what the district hopes the future will be: bold, creative, and innovative. These qualities are showcased with the new identity, providing a cohesive brand that reflects the unique characteristics of Greenwood School District 50.

The new vision statement “Preparing tomorrow’s leaders together.” sums up Greenwood School District 50’s main goal - to prepare students to be leaders with the help of teachers, staff, parents and community members.

Greenwood School District 50 will soon begin to refresh school brands as well.
