Greenwood School District 50 has named Shekeila Fisher as principal of Rice Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year.
Since 2022, Fisher has served as Assistant Principal at Merrywood Elementary School. Fisher brings more than 15 years of educational experience to the role, including seven years as an assistant principal within District 50. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to student achievement, instructional leadership, and fostering positive school cultures. Prior to entering administration, Mrs. Fisher served as a classroom teacher in District 50 and Saluda School District from 2009 to 2019. Fisher obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Lander University and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Capella University in 2016.
Fisher is honored for the opportunity to serve the Rice school community in her new role.

Superintendent Goodwin stated that Fisher’s experience and dedication to students and staff make her an excellent fit for the position at Rice.
