Greenwood School District 50 has announced an administrative transition involving leadership at two of its elementary schools for the upcoming school year.
Anna Haynes to Lead Mays Elementary School as Principal
Anna Haynes has been named as Principal at Mays Elementary School. Haynes is currently completing her fourth year as the Principal at Rice Elementary School. During her nine years in District 50, Haynes has served as a teacher and administrator at Woodfields, Lakeview and Rice Elementary. Prior to working in District 50, Haynes spent 10 years in Anderson School District Five at North Pointe Elementary and Nevitt Forest Community School of Innovation.
Haynes graduated from Maryville College in 2006 and later earned a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Anderson University.
In her new role at Mays Elementary, Haynes will continue to build upon a strong foundation of achievement while working closely with students, staff, and families to support continued growth and success.
“It has been a pleasure serving the students, staff, and families of Rice,” said Haynes. “This school community has meant so much to me, and I am proud of all we have accomplished together. I look forward to continuing this work at Mays and building strong, positive relationships as we support student success.”
“During her time in District 50, Mrs. Haynes has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success and school leadership,” said Superintendent Shane Goodwin. “She will bring valuable experience and a proven ability to foster positive learning environments. We are confident she will continue to make a meaningful impact with the Mays school community.”
The transition creates a leadership opportunity at Rice Elementary School, and the district will begin identifying the next principal immediately. Greenwood School District 50 is committed to a thorough selection process to ensure continued success for students, staff, and the school community at Rice.
Additional information regarding the application process and timeline will be shared in the coming days.
