Today, Greenwood School District 50 announced that Mays Elementary Principal Tiara Watson will leave the district to accept a leadership position in another district for the 2026-2027 school year.
Watson has served as principal at Mays Elementary School since 2019, providing strong leadership and a commitment to student success, staff development, and school improvement. During her tenure, she has worked closely with students, families, and staff to develop a positive learning environment and strengthen the school community.
“Mrs. Watson has made a meaningful impact on the Mays School Community and our district,” said Superintendent Shane Goodwin. “We are grateful for her dedication to our students and staff and wish her continued success in this next chapter.”
Watson expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the Mays Family during her time in District 50.
“I am grateful for my time in Greenwood School District 50 and the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and families of Mays,” said Watson. “This community has been incredibly supportive, and I will always value the relationships and experiences gained here.”
Greenwood School District 50 will begin identifying the next principal for Mays Elementary School and will share updates with staff, families, and the community as they become available.
