D50 Announces Tuesday, January 27th as an e-Learning Day

Greenwood School District 50 announced today that Tuesday, January 27th, will be an e-Learning day for the district. The e-Learning day decision is due to icy conditions on secondary roads and backroads, which could make travel unsafe for school buses and drivers. Also, according to the National Weather Service, frigid temperatures are expected tomorrow morning, which could pose safety concerns for students and staff.

Superintendent Goodwin stated, “While we understand schedule changes can be difficult for families, the safety of our students and employees must always come first. Given the potential for icy roadways and dangerously cold temperatures, an e-Learning Day is the best option to ensure everyone remains safe.”

On Tuesday, January 27, students will not report to school. Staff will not report to work unless directed by their supervisor. Students will complete eLearning assignments at home in accordance with district eLearning expectations. Attendance will be recorded in accordance with district eLearning procedures.

No decisions have been made regarding our operation status on Wednesday, January 28th. District officials will continue to closely monitor weather conditions throughout today and tomorrow to determine operations for Wednesday. Further updates will be shared through the District 50 website, social media platforms, and parent notification systems.
