Greenwood School District 50 is encouraging parents and guardians to ensure students are dressed in warm layers due to the threat of below-freezing conditions on Tuesday, November 11.
The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning in effect from 8 p.m. this evening until 9 a.m. tomorrow. Sub-freezing temperatures will drop into the lower to mid 20’s causing frost and freezing conditions.
“Our top priority is keeping our students safe and comfortable as temperatures drop,” said Superintendent Shane Goodwin. “We encourage parents to make sure children are dressed warmly and ready for the cold morning ahead.”
Parents and families should consider the following:
- Dress students in layers (coat, hat, gloves, scarf, and warm socks).
- Cover exposed skin and limit time outdoors.
District bus drivers will take extra precautions during morning routes. Due to the cold, some buses may be delayed by a few minutes on Tuesday morning. Please allow additional time at bus stops.
