Greenwood School District 50 continues to demonstrate strong academic growth and improvement according to the 2025 South Carolina School Report Cards, released Monday, November 3, by the South Carolina Department of Education and the Education Oversight Committee.
This year, five District 50 schools earned an “Excellent” rating and three schools earned a “Good” rating, reflecting steady progress across the district.
“Our district continues to show outstanding improvement highlighted by the recent ratings that our schools received on the State Report Cards,” Superintendent Shane Goodwin stated. “As always, these ratings are a reflection of the hard work of our students, teachers, and staff. We look forward to continuing our efforts to improve all of our schools as we strive to make a positive impact in the lives of our children every day.”
Within District 50, the following schools received top ratings:
- Excellent – Hodges Elementary, Mathews Elementary, Merrywood Elementary, Pinecrest Elementary, and Woodfields Elementary
- Good – Mays Elementary, Lakeview Elementary, and Westview Middle
Additionally, Emerald High School and Greenwood High School both improved to an Average rating, marking notable gains in performance.
The South Carolina School Report Cards provide a comprehensive overview of each school and district’s performance, based on multiple indicators, including academic achievement, student progress, progress of multilingual learners, school climate, college and career readiness, and graduation rate. These measures, approved by the SC Education Oversight Committee, are designed to provide families and communities with transparent information about school quality and growth.
