D50 Names Aaron Acord as Director of Transportation

Greenwood School District 50 recently announced the hiring of Mr. Aaron Acord as the district’s new Director of Transportation. 

 

Acord has served as Assistant Principal at Brewer Middle School over the past two years. Since joining the district in 2020, Acord has served as an assistant principal and band director at Emerald High School and Westview Middle School. During his 15 years in education, Acord has served as a middle and high school band director in Wyoming County School District in West Virginia, Lexington County School District Two, and Anderson School District 5. Acord graduated from Anderson University and received his Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina.

 

“I am honored to have an opportunity to lead our Transportation Department and serve the students and families of District 50 in this new role,” Acord stated. “Our bus drivers and support staff play a crucial role in our students’ daily success. My goal will be to continue building a culture of safety, teamwork, and dependability to ensure every child arrives at school and returns home safely each day.” 

 

Superintendent Shane Goodwin praised Acord’s leadership experience and commitment to excellence within the district. 

 

“Mr. Acord is a dedicated leader within our district who consistently demonstrates professionalism, organization, and a strong work ethic,” Mr. Goodwin said. “His proven leadership skills and student-focused approach make him an ideal fit to guide our Transportation Department moving forward.” 

 

Assistant Superintendent for Administration Dr. Christi Louden also commended Acord’s selection as director. 

 

“Mr. Acord understands the importance of operational excellence and is committed to the safety and well-being of our students,” Dr. Louden said. “ We’re excited to see him lead this critical department in our district.”
