Two New Secondary Assistant Principals Named in District 50

Greenwood School District 50 recently announced the hiring of two new Assistant Principals following an April Board of Trustees called meeting. 


David Grice will be the Assistant Principal at Westview Middle School next school year. During his 25 years in education, Grice has served as a principal, assistant principal, instructional coach and teacher. Prior to working in District 50, Grice worked as the Principal at Locust Elementary School and Albemarle Middle School in Stanly County Schools in Albemarle, NC.  Grice obtained his Bachelor’s degree in History from Wingate University and also received a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. He earned his Masters degree in Educational Leadership from UNC Charlotte in 2000. 

  

Thomas Fortman has been named as the Assistant Principal at Emerald High School. Fortman currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Chester High School, a position he has held for the last two years. Prior to working in Chester County Schools, Fortman worked as an administrative assistant and Math Department Leader at Clinton High School from 2017-2019. Fortman began his teaching career as a Math teacher at Digital Harbor High School in Baltimore, MD in 2011. Fortman graduated from Colorado Technical University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2008. He went on to earn a Masters degree from Liberty University in Christian Leadership and also received a Masters of Education degree from Liberty in School Administration. He is currently working on his Doctorate degree in Education Leadership from the University of Cumberlands.
