  • All right, Vikings!!  The March of Dimes campaign is here!  We will be collecting donations for the March of Dimes each Friday during 1st  block/1st Period for your chance to win a Chick-fil-A breakfast!  The top class will earn breakfast the first week in April.  All proceeds go directly to the March of Dimes to help reduce pre-mature births in South Carolina.  Bring your donations Friday!

  • Prom tickets are now on sale. The cost will be $25/ticket through March 17th. After March 17th, the price will increase to $30/ticket. Please see Mrs. Ficklin to purchase your tickets.

  • PTSO will be held March 13th at 6:30 PM. Prior to the PTSO meeting, our AFJROTC will conduct its Kitty Hawk Air Society Induction beginning at 6:00 PM. All are invited to attend.

    Look to Your Future - If you’re a high school student with a disability, VR can help you plan for your future and get the skills and tools you need to succeed in the job market after graduation. VR services can help you evaluate career choices, build your skills, and learn what resources are available to assist you. In addition, you might participate in a Summer Program, High School / High Tech, Post-secondary Training, or VR’s annual Disability Mentoring Day.

    Emerald Viking Cheer tryouts will be held April 24th-28th. There will be a clinic held Monday, April 24th-Thursday, April 27th from 4:00-6:00 PM with auditions being held on Friday, April 27th beginning at 4:00 PM. During the clinic you will learn a required dance routine, a required cheer and chant, and required jumps (toe touch). Optional will be a hurdler, hurkey, pike etc.. and basic tumbling skills will also be optional. Tumbling during auditions is not judged, however, you are awarded bonus points. ALL candidates must have a current physical on file in the athletic office at Emerald High School. ALL physicals must be dated on or after April 1st, 2017. Therefore you have a small window of opportunity to have physicals completed. Please begin making appointments now if you plan to see a specific Doctor. No one will be allowed to try out without the proper forms from a physician. If you have any questions please feel free to contact phillipsh@gwd50.org
