Natalie Talbert Named as D50’s New Safety Officer

Talbert Natalie Talbert has been named as District 50’s new Safety Officer. Talbert currently serves as the Chief Deputy for the Abbeville Sheriff’s Office, a position she has held for the last six years. Prior to working in Abbeville, Talbert served as a Domestic Violence Investigator for the Greenwood Sheriff’s Office and a Senior Agent for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division in Columbia. Talbert has a total of 39 years of experience in coordinating investigations, researching and reviewing case files, and conducting interviews as a law enforcement officer and investigation specialist. 

“I am excited about my new career opportunity in District 50,” Talbert said. “I believe my experience in law enforcement will assist the district with their school safety, security, and risk management program. I look forward to building quality relationships with our faculty, staff, and parents as we work towards creating a safe and positive learning environment for all students .”

Talbert obtained her Associate’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Piedmont Technical College and received her State Certification from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in Columbia.

“Ms. Talbert will do a tremendous job as our new Safety Officer,” Superintendent Dr. Steve Glenn stated. “Her experience and knowledge in dealing with law enforcement and investigations will be an added bonus for our district’s safety and security program. She has been successful at the local and state level and I fully anticipate this to continue in her new role with our district.”
