Teague Selected As Interim Assistant Director at Genesis Education Center

teague Karen Teague has been named as the interim Assistant Director at Genesis Education Center. Teague has been employed with Greenwood School District 50 for 6 years. She was a social studies teacher at Emerald High School, and she has been the district social studies coach since 2017. Teague also previously taught in Laurens School District 55 and at the collegiate level at Furman University 

“I am looking forward to beginning my administrative career in District 50,” Mrs. Teague said. “I look forward to working with the students, teachers, and staff at Genesis Education Center as we work together to achieve the mission and vision of our school.”

Teague has received numerous awards during her career including: Teacher of the Month-Emerald High School, Teacher of the Month-Laurens 55 High School, and Technology Innovator-Greenwood 50. She was also named Emerald’s Teacher of the Year in 2016-2017, and the District Teacher of the Year-Greenwood 50 2016-2017.

Teague received her Bachelor of Science degree in History with Teaching from Lander University.  She has a Master of Education Degree from the University of Phoenix in Curriculum and Instruction-Computer Education, and a Master of Art in Education-Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix.

Superintendent Steve Glenn stated, “Mrs. Teague is an amazing educator, and she will be a welcome addition at Genesis Education Center. She will work to ensure that all students continue to achieve their maximum potential.”
