Perrin Selected As Director of Elementary Education

l Alyson Perrin, Director of Evaluation, has been named as the new Director of Elementary Education. 

“I am excited about this new opportunity in my professional career,” Mrs. Perrin said. “I have high expectations for all of our staff and maintain the belief that all students deserve the highest quality education in order to be successful in tomorrow's world.”

Perrin has worked in District 50 for the last 17 years. Perrin began her career in District 50 as a teacher at Brewer Middle School. She has also served as an Instructional Specialist at Merrywood and Woodfields Elementary Schools. Perrin was named Merrywood’s Teacher of the Year in 2008 and Woodfields’ Teacher of the Year in 2010. 

She was named Springfield’s Principal during the 2010-2011 school year and served in this role for 6 years.  She then took on the role of Director of Evaluation for the district. She served in this capacity for the past 3 years. In 2012, Perrin received the South Carolina Association of School Nurses Administrator of the Year Award and Piedmont Reading Council Administrator of the Year Award. 

“Mrs. Perrin has become a district leader during her career in District 50,” Superintendent Steve Glenn stated. “She is well respected by parents, students, employees, and administration. She has the talent, knowledge, and skills to provide the leadership necessary to help our teachers and staff reach the next level.” 

Perrin received her Bachelor’s degree from  Lander University in 2002 and her Master of Education Degree in Administration and Supervision from Clemson University in 2004.
