Dr. Steve Glenn Announced as D50's New Superintendent

fj This evening during a Called Board Meeting the Greenwood School District 50 Board of Trustees announced Dr. Steve Glenn as Superintendent of Greenwood School District 50.

The selection of Dr. Glenn follows an extensive Superintendent search conducted by executive search firm Coleman Lew Canny Bowen of Charlotte, NC.  The search began in January 2019.

Dr. Glenn comes to Greenwood from Ninety Six, where he served as the Assistant Superintendent for Greenwood School District 52 since 2018. He has a strong background in all aspects of educational administration including service as assistant superintendent, middle and high school principal, director, assistant principal, and teacher. Dr. Glenn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Mars Hill College and Masters of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Clemson University. Additionally,  Dr. Glenn received his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Clemson in 2005.

Dr. Glenn has previously served in District 50 as Director of the G. Frank Russell Technology Center and Principal of Westview Middle School.

Speaking on behalf of the Board, Chairman David Trent stated that the Board is extremely pleased that Dr. Glenn will be leading the District as Superintendent beginning July 1, 2019.  

Mr. Trent also stated, “We welcome Dr. Glenn and his family to the Greenwood community.  We are confident that his leadership will take our District to a new level of academic excellence.”
