D50 Teachers of the Year Honored at Annual Luncheon

Greenwood School District 50’s Teachers of the Year were honored at the district’s annual recognition luncheon held on Friday, May 10th at Genesis Education Center. The event served as a time for teachers to be recognized by Superintendent Darrell Johnson, school principals, and elected officials. State Senator Floyd Nicholson and House of Representative member John McCravy commended teachers for all of their hard work inside and outside of the classroom.

District Teacher of the Year Lee Ann Starnes also spoke at the luncheon and encouraged teachers to continue being leaders at each of their schools. Each school Teacher of the Year will participate in interviews later in May to determine the 2019-2020 District Teacher of the Year. District 50’s 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year will be announced at the Opening of School Celebration in August.
