Watson Named a New Elementary School Principal

Watson An elementary school in Greenwood School District 50 will have a new face as their principal next school year.

Mrs. Tiara Watson has been named as a new elementary school principal in District 50. Watson currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Springfield Elementary School. In 2017, Watson completed her first year in District 50 as a 5th grade teacher at Woodfields Elementary School.

Prior to working in District 50, Watson spent two years in McCormick County School District as an Assistant Principal and teacher. Watson began her teaching career in 2005 working as an elementary school teacher in Edgefield County School District.

Watson graduated from Lander University in 2005 and went on to earn a Masters of Education degree in Instructional Design from Western Governor’s University. She obtained an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration and Supervision from Clemson in 2015.

“I am honored to be selected to lead an elementary school in District 50,” Watson stated. “I look forward to working with the students, staff and stakeholders of my new school as we continue to build upon a tremendous tradition of excellence in District 50.”

“Mrs. Watson is an outstanding educator,” Assistant Superintendent for Administration Gerald Witt stated. “She has proven to be a successful educator in our district and surrounding school districts. Her energy and enthusiasm will have a positive impact on students, teachers, and parents at an elementary school next year.”
