District 50 and Lions Club Partner to Offer Annual Health Screenings to Students

On Wednesday, September 5th, the Greenwood Lions Club partnered with Greenwood School District 50 school nurses to complete student health screenings at Hodges Elementary School. With the help of Greenwood Lions Club, District 50 nurses provided screenings for eyesight and hearing to every student at Hodges.

Over the last several years, the Greenwood Lions Club has been instrumental in providing thousands of vision screenings to students in Greenwood County. Mrs. Phyllis Zuehlke, a dedicated Lions Club volunteer and former Headmistresses at Cambridge Academy, spearheaded the purchase of a SPOT vision machine which allowed the organization to enhance their mission of providing vision to children in the community.

In the picture above, Lions Club volunteers Jimmy Corley and Tom Gordon use the SPOT vision machine to provide a screening to a Hodges Kindergarten student.

Thanks again to the Lions Club for their efforts to keep Greenwood County students healthy and smiling throughout the school year!
