RTC Female Students Participate in Women Linking Women Breakfast

On Friday, September 7th, nine G. Frank Russell Technology Center female students were able to participate in a Chamber of Commerce event at the Center. The students were given the opportunity to connect with over 30 businesswomen at the Women Linking Women breakfast, hosted by the Chamber’s Women’s Leadership Council.

During the event, participants learned new skills on how to make valuable connections. Two students even received door prizes! Students received a copy of the book entitled “Why Should We Hire You?” from author Brooks Harper.

One of the participating students, Emerald senior Berenice Flores, provided her impressions of the event. Berenice is studying health science and plans to attend the University of South Carolina after graduation.

“I really enjoyed participating in the Chamber’s Women Linking Women event,” Berenice said. “It gave me the opportunity to experience what the real world is like.  The women I met helped me learn how to make new connections and allowed me to step out of my comfort zone.”
