    About Me: 

      • I graduated from Lander with a BA in English Secondary Education
      • I graduated from Mercy College with an MA in English Literature
      • I am working on my PhD from Walden in Education: LII
      • I am GT certified, AP Lit. certified, and a SC Teaching Fellow, and a member of Sigma Tau Delta and Delta Kappa Gamma
      • Before graduating high school, I had lived in 36 states
      • I have been to Vietnam, England, Japan, Germany, Austria, and Poland
      • I have been married 5 years
      • My husband, Mike, is a student at PTC and disabled
      • I have 3 dogs (1 Lab mixes and 2 Terrier mixes)
      • My mom works at Greenwood Community Children's Center (Dr. or Mrs. Platt) – A lot of you might be her patients
      • I have one brother and one sister
      • My dad died 5 years ago of kidney failure. I miss him every day.
      • My husband and I are members of South Main Baptist Church
      • I am a life-long Girl Scout who earned her Silver and Gold Award

                  A = 100-90grade
              B = 89- 80
              C = 79-70
              D = 69-60
              F = 59 and below (no longer a 60 rule in effect)

    Class Philosophy

    Effort is a priority in the classroom!

      Students should be willing to participate in a variety of settings and projects. Students should be willing to work together and independently of one another.

    Class Content

      - Novel, Short Stories Nonfiction, Drama and plays, Poetry, Grammar, Vocabulary/Literary Terms, Research Paper/ Project

    Final Exam

      - All English students will take an exam. This exam will count as 20% of the final average in this class. 

    Tardies

      - Each student is expected to be on time for school and class. A student is considered tardy if he/she is not seated when the bell rings. Students who are not present for at least 80 minutes of class are marked absent in that class.

    Make-Up Work

      - Any make-up work is due the day the student returns. All make-up tests should be scheduled with me at least one day in advance.

    Classroom Materials 3 ring binder, composition notebook, blue/black ink pens, pencils, lined paper, and the textbook is a classroom set (the online edition is available at Pearsonrealize.com)
