I have been teaching high school physics, and science, and math for forty years. All forty-one years have been spent teaching at Greenwood High School. My top priority is to the teach and challenge my students. I believe science and math are vital to successful careers. My goal to is give students the fundamental foundations for future successes in college. My primary position is teaching physics. Physics is the most fundamental of all sciences. Even though many of my students will not have careers in physics, physics teaches critical thinking skills that are essential for problem solving skills in the world. I have developed a successful AP Physics program at Greenwood High School. Students are able to take AP Physics "C" Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism while attending Greenwood High School. Both these courses are calculus-based physics courses. These courses are fundamental for science and engineering majors in college. Greenwood High students have excelled in AP Physics. For the past forty years our scores have exceeded both the state and national average. There are students who enter colleges and universities with eight hours of physics. As a teacher, I am committed to providing students opportunities and support to be successful in physics. I feel the rigor of problem solving and meaningful lab activities will provide students opportunities to make connections in the areas of physics.EducationBA in Mathematics Newberry College 1979MED in Mathematics Clemson University 198330+masters Science EducationCertificationNationally Board Certified in Science EducationOther FactsConsultant for ETS.
