Mrs. Laura Patterson
I received my B.S. degree from Lander University in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I completed my student teaching in 5th grade and then taught 6th, 7th, 2nd, and 3rd grade. After that, I was a HOSTS (mentoring program) teacher for three years. I then taught 5th grade for seven years at Lakeview Elementary School before being transferred to 6th grade at Northside Middle School where I taught English Language Arts for five years. This is my 2nd year at Rice teaching 5th grade. I am so excited to about this school year and all of the wonderful things we will be working on.
I have been married to my husband, Tracy Patterson, for twenty-six years. We have two sons: Wes 23 and Evan 19. Even though Wes will graduate from Clemson University in December, I am truly a USC fan at heart and enjoy going to Carolina football games. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family, especially my 87 year-old mother.
I am truly blessed to be a part of the Rice Elementary family, but I feel even more blessed to have such wonderful students in my class this year.
