The Rotary Club has always been committed to helping children in need. In 1960, the organization took a new approach to youth service. Rotary began to encourage service among youth, foster their active interest in the community, and offer opportunities for them to develop as leaders. In 1962, the first Interact Club was started in Melbourne High School in Melbourne, Florida.
The Interact Club of Greenwood High School was established in 1994 and has taken the motto "Service Above Self" to heart. Each fall students are encouraged to complete applications for membership and provide service experiences and ideas for service they may have for the club. Dues for the club are $20 and each member is expected to complete at least 3 service projects throughout the year.
The club meets every other Tuesday in room E311. Applications become available in August and are due to Mrs. Rosenbaum in Guidance. All students are encouraged to apply and become involved in making a difference in our school, our community, and our world.
