• My name is Betty Strange and I am one of the art teachers at Woodfields this year. I have been teaching art for thirty years, twenty-nine of which have been at Woodfields.  I received my B.A. in Art and Masters of Elementary Education at Lander University and am a National Board Certified teacher.
This year, I am teaching K-5 through 5th grade with exception of ACTS.
All students will be working at various art stations to improve their artistic skills. These include drawing, painting, and sculpture. The one that has been most popular in the past is sculpture! We have paper, clay, and wire sculpture.
We also have a box of PVC pipes that the children love to put together. Our new, exciting thing this year is kinetic sand! We learn about lines, shapes, and colors in the early grades and learn a lot about art history in the older grades.
This year at Woodfields, We will be intergrating the arts into the regular classroom. This will give your child many more opportunities to explore the arts. The best way for your child to develop their artistic ability is to provide a space for them at home to create.
    Thank you for checking in!
