    Arriving at School:
Students should arrive at school no earlier than 7:15 a.m. if arriving by a car. The school day begins at 7:50 a.m. and after that your child will be counted tardy if he/she is late. Parents need to accompany the student to the office when tardy.

    Breakfast:
As with the other schools in our district Woodfields Elementary participates in the Breakfast program. This program provides a free well balanced breakfast to all students. To receive the breakfast students must be present in the cafeteria  before 7:30.

    Dismissal:
Dismissal begins at 2:40 p.m. No child will be dismissed “early” between 2:00-2:40 p.m. If you are planning on getting your child out of school early a note or phone call must be made to the office informing us when your child needs to be dismissed.

    Getting Home:
This is a very important issue. At the beginning of the year you filled out how your child will get home at dismissal. If for ANY reason how your child will be getting home changes, I MUST have either a written note or the office must have received a phone call from you about the change.. If a note or call is not received by dismissal time,  for safety reasons I will have to send your child home by their regular mode of transportation.

    Absences & Tardies
If a student has a total of 10 or more absences for the school year, then this may be cause for the loss of one year's school work.  This may lead to retention for the year.
If a student has 2 or more tardies, and/or early dismissals per 9 week period then the student will not receive a Perfect Attendance Award even if they have not missed a day of school for the 9 week period.

    Homework:
Homework will be sent home every night. Please allow your child to complete it and return it to school the next day. This helps to build good study habits, reinforces content taught in class, and teaches responsibility.

    Lunch:
There is no charge for lunch this school year for students in K-5.  Extra milk can be purchased for .50 cents.  Your child may also bring a lunch from home.   Please contact  our cafeteria manager if you have any questions about the meals.

    Visitors & Guests:
All visitors and parents must report to the school office to sign in and receive a visitor’s pass before coming to the classroom even if you have an appointment. This helps to ensure the safety of everyone.
