Welcome to my "getting to know you" page! This is my nineteenth year teaching and my tenth at Lakeview. Prior to Lakeview, I taught middle and high school English for nine years. Fourth grade has been my home for six of my seven years at Lakeview. I looped to fifth grade one year and had a fabulous group of third graders during my last year in the classroom! I have been blessed to experience a variety of K-12 levels throughout my teaching career. I am thrilled with my newest home in the library media center working with all grade levels!
I graduated from Clemson University with a BA in secondary education with an emphasis in English. I completed my masters in education with an emphasis in K-12 reading through Clemson as well. Needless to say, I am a Tiger fan! I completed thirty hours above my master's degree for my "plus 30" as it is referred to in the education world. Most recently I completed the necessary coursework to complete my library media certification. According to my husband, he thinks I should be called a "professional student".
I am married with two children who are both students in Greenwood District 50 and a dog. My family and their many activities keep me busy when I am not at school!
