Dear Merrywood Families,

On behalf of the officers and members of the Merrywood Elementary PTO (Parent – Teacher Organization), we are happy to welcome you to a new and exciting school year at Merrywood Elementary School!

Parent involvement is a key element in any school environment and that is certainly true at Merrywood.  With budgets decreasing, your support and involvement have become even more important in meeting the needs of our students and staff.  In past years, PTO has provided many needed items for the school such as playground equipment, school supplies, Smart Boards, Fast+ Math, poster and laminating machines, new technology…just to name a few! Just in the last year, we have installed new swings and additional playground equipment as well as beautiful murals throughout the school. We have lots of exciting things planned for this year as we continue to support a positive learning experience.    

The Merrywood PTO also provides many wonderful events throughout the year for you and your children to enjoy… birthday lunches, family nights, Donuts for Dads, Muffins for Moms, Chick-Fil-A nights, Spring Carnival and the list goes on!

Please make sure to mark your calendars for our PTO Open House on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 6:30. If you have any questions or additional ideas for the Merrywood PTO please let me know. I look forward to working with all of you this year.  Together we can make this a terrific year at Merrywood Elementary!
