Hello, my name is Denise Brown and this is my 7th  year as the school nurse at Mathews Elementary.  Before I came to Mathews, I worked as a Pediatric nurse for The Children's Center for 16 years.  I received my nursing degree from Lander College in 1985.  I have been married for 27 years and have 3 kids ages 23, 21, and 17.

 

My primary concern is the overall health of the students at Mathews and helping them get the most of their classroom time. Here in the Health Room, I take care of everything from abrasions to illnesses.   I also teach about health and prevention issues during the year.

 

TAKING CARE OF YOU:  Remember to exercise 20 minutes a day.  It is a great stress reducer and can help maintain a healthy weight.  Get plenty of rest and drink water.
