WordWork:  Working with Dingbats

1.   Sample document with different paragraph formats

2.   The dingbat – the “paragraph marker” (¶) – is used to show the end of a paragraph.

3.    The dingbat is created by pressing the <ENTER> key.

4.   You can see dingbats – and other hidden characters – in a Word document by clicking the Show/Hide button on the Word toolbar.

5.   You can also show all the hidden formatting characters by clicking Tools/Options from the Word menu bar; then, under “Formatting Marks,” click “All” and OK.

6.   You can copy a dingbat from the end of one paragraph to the end of another paragraph if you want to change the format of the second paragraph to match the first.

7.   You can copy and paste a dingbat to change text to a numbered or bulleted list.
