Early Childhood Education I
Course Description:
Early Childhood Education 1: Prerequisites completion of 10th grade. 1 unit of high school credit Early Childhood Education 1 is dual credit with Piedmont Technical College. Students will enroll in ECD 101 and ECD 132 earning six hours credit from PTC. This program is designed for students who love children, have compassion, mature judgment, and a sense of humor. Students who will enjoy a career in the field of Early Childhood Education teaching either preschool, elementary school, or a related field such as child psychology. This program will provide knowledge of child growth in all areas of development – physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and creative. Students will development an understanding of the importance of developing creativity and independence in children. Students gain an understanding of the skills and responsibilities necessary to work with young children.
