Congratulations to Ms. Sandy Shaffer, Springfield's Teacher of the Year for 2013-2014. Ms. Darlene Pace was named First Year Teacher of the Year, and Ms. Kim McLaughlin was named Support Staff of the Year.

Announcements

Elizabeth Slimmer, fourth grade student and daughter of David and Maggie Slimmer received the Statewide MESAS Science Award during Springfield's End-of-Year Awards Ceremony. Elizabeth received a framed certificate and a cash prize. The certificate of merit is part of the South Carolina Academy of Science inquiry competition conducted this spring. Springfield GATAS students were given the challenge in February. Students completed a rigorous document which included science concepts and research questions. Congratulations Elizabeth!
