The band program at Greenwood High School is a result of much hard work by the faculty, students, parents, and the Greenwood community. With a commitment to excellence, we strive to afford students the best musical experience available. Band students are provided opportunities to excel individually and as a group. In addition to band competitions and festivals, students may participate in region and all-state auditions, the Lander University Wind Ensemble, university band clinics and numerous local community and state events.
Our program consists of a Marching Band, a Wind Ensemble, a Symphonic Band, a Jazz Band, a Percussion Ensemble, and numerous smaller ensembles. The Marching and Concert Ensembles have consistently received superior ratings in 4A and grade 5 and 6 festivals and competitions for over 25 years. The band program at Greenwood High School is fed by two middle school programs: the band program at Northside Middle School, under the direction of Vernon Clamp, and the band program at Brewer Middle School, under the direction of Charlie Jones. Looking ahead, the Greenwood High School Band Program continues to strive toward a very simple goal: to provide its students with the very best musical opportunities possible. We encourage your support of this and all of our public school music programs.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.
